Breaking Generational Sins (CLICK HERE)

When we worship idols such as 'lust', 'hatred', 'witchcraft', 'fear', etc. that sin is passed down to the third and fourth generation.  If it is not broken by applying the forgiveness of the cross to the sin -  the cycle repeats.

It is very easy to recognize sins that are generational because the previous and/or subsequent generations struggle with the same strongholds:  worry, lust, fear, etc.  This prayer takes you through the steps needed to break off the cycle.

Breaking Ungodly Soul Ties (CLICK HERE)

Breaking ungodly soul ties with people we had toxic relationships with can be an effective healing tool.  From parents to siblings to ex-spouses and unkind acquaintances.  When we cut off the ungodly agreement in relationships we sever their right to influence us.

Uprooting Lies - Mind Renewal (CLICK HERE)

Lies are planted as seeds in our mind.  Sometimes they grow into full size trees.  Uprooting lies is focused on the root of the tree instead of the branches.  It is common to use this prayer on a daily basis!

Deprogramming from Idols/Strongholds/Demons (CLICK HERE)

Renouncing Idols, Strongholds, and Demons is important.  This is a prayer to untangle ourselves and renew our minds from the sinfulness of bowing to evil.

Sealing Up after Warfare (CLICK HERE)

Every time we do Spiritual Warfare at Tisha Sledd Ministries we seal it up by praying this prayer.

We have found it to be invaluable in keeping us safe from the backlash that comes from messing with the devil and his kingdom.

Breaking the Curse of Freemasons - Masons/Shriners (CLICK HERE)

There are significant ramifications when anyone makes a covenant with the Freemason organization. Behind the veil of their "good works" is an organization that is not rooted in Jesus Christ and ultimately makes vows to demonic idols.  When anyone in your family line has belonged to the Freemasons, there is a bloodline iniquity that must be remitted to the Lord.  When you renounce the vows taken through the different levels of the Freemasons - you will see that there are some deeply disturbing vows one is required to take to belong to this organization.

Divorce Decrees for Baal - Queen of Heaven - Leviathan - Lucifer (CLICK HERE)

There are three main idols and one fallen angel that are important to purposely divorce ourselves from.  Baal is the god of rebellion.  Queen of heaven is the god of sexuality and manipulation.  Leviathan is the god of pride and twisting the truth.  All three of these work together and must be divorced together.  The fallen angel Lucifer must also be loosed from one's bloodline and given a certificate of divorce.  Being specific about cutting soul ties with these spiritual beings brings greater relief and peace to the pray-er.

(You MAY pray these prayers for others according to 1 John 5:16 and John 20:23)

This Is How You Become MORE Than a Conqueror - It's all about the PLUNDER!

We can use the battles of the Old Testament as a template for how to wage spiritual warfare. We no longer battle against flesh and blood - we do not battle "people" like the Kings in the Old Testament - but we DO battle the same powers and principalities that their enemies represented.

We no longer fight with swords and spears. We fight on our knees using the word of God (our sword), His name (our authority), and His blood (our power/strength).

The more we learn about spiritual warfare, the easier it becomes. Personally, I used to constantly battle a demon of depression. But I can now easily knock that spirit to the ground by using my weapons of warfare. The "feeling" of depression flees quickly from me once I respond to its attack by telling it to go, or quoting scripture, or by singing a worship song.

Once I came to truly understand and believe that I had authority over it - it didn't try as often to overwhelm me and take me out.

But though I understood my authority in Spiritual Warfare - there was one thing I was still not understanding...It's one thing that I think a lot of people overlook.

Once you have victory in Spiritual Warfare - YOU NEED TO ASK FOR THE PLUNDER.

This is how we are MORE than a conqueror!!

For a long time, I was just a conqueror --- until I understood that I also needed to ask for the plunder. It wasn't until I asked for the plunder that I was fully implementing all of my authority.

Now - when I finish fighting something in the spirit realm and I know it’s finished.

I picture myself before the Supreme Judge and I ask Him for the spiritual plunder from the fight. He usually asks me to make a list of plunder that I want from the defeated spirit.

So I ask for things that were stolen by the spirit to be returned plus 7 times what was stolen. I let the Spirit lead me and I write it in my journal.

Sometimes I ask for lost finances or for favor to be given.  If I’m praying for a nation – I will ask for the generations to reap the blessings that have been held up.

When I ask…I ask BIG! It’s kind of like the King who struck the arrows on the ground. (2 Kings 13)  How much do I want to win? I strike the ground a lot when asking for plunder.

God says that we do not have because we do not ask --- so I ask BIG!

When David plundered the Amalekites in 1 Samuel 30, he took back the things that originally belonged to him but he also took all of the enemy’s livestock and goods as well.

Then he shared it with those who were faithful to him.

If we use the Old Testament as our blueprint for fighting powers and principalities, the Kings always brought the plunder back to their Kingdom. They used their plunder to build their kingdoms BUT more so, they used it to build God's temple.

So in keeping with this blueprint, when we ask for the plunder after defeating our foe in the spiritual realm, we need to keep in mind the people of God and ask for plunder to meet their needs. After that be sure to ask for personal plunder as well.

Become MORE than a conqueror by becoming a plunderer!

You do not have, because you do not ask. James 4:2

The Difference Between Prayer and Intercession and Spiritual Warfare

There is a need in the Body of Christ to understand the difference between

Prayer

and Intercession and Spiritual Warfare.  They are not all the same.  But each one is necessary.  It will be helpful as the Lord brings unity to His people that we each understand the different giftings and how each one of us fit into His Army.  Every person in His Church is called to pray - but not every person will be called to intercession or to spiritual warfare.

Prayer is a conscious, personal communication with the God of the universe.  It is the place where you approach your heavenly Father, where you share your heart with Him and He shares His heart with you.  Supplication, requests, repentance and prayers for family and friends fall under the heading of prayer. The Lord’s Prayer is a good example.  Most of the Psalms are prayers to God.  Prayer is to our lives what fuel is to an engine.  We will not go very far in life without a healthy prayer life.

Intercession is a step up from prayer.

Intercession is praying God’s heart into a specific situation or standing in the gap of behalf of a person or region who is in need of mercy and grace.  Intercession begins by finding out what God’s opinion is on each matter and praying that His truth and will would be done.  It’s pleading with God on behalf of a person or circumstance.  Elisha praying a boy back to life in 1 Kings 17 is an example of intercession.  This is not spiritual warfare but a pleading with God to do something on earth for another person or situation.  Jesus intercedes for his disciples in John 17.  He also intercedes for those who crucified him on the cross.  He also intercedes for Peter that his faith would not fail him after his betrayal.

Spiritual Warfare is the using of God’s authority to uproot demonic strongholds and the planting of God’s Kingdom.  This kind of prayer happens in the unseen world where demons dwell.  The Bible calls it the second heaven. An example of spiritual warfare is when Jesus resisted the devil’s temptations in the desert, or when He told the evil spirits where to go.

Spiritual Warfare is using the name and authority of Christ to limit evil spirits and their power.

All levels of Pray-ers are needed.  We cannot do without one of the levels of prayer.  There is not a hierarchy of importance.  But there is a spiritual authority needed in order to be an intercessor or a warrior.  People without authority or assignment from God should never do spiritual warfare.  Great harm can come to people who step out of God’s covering and attack a demonic stronghold.  To remain safe, we need to wait for God’s timing and His orders.

A Case Study in the Levels of Prayer

Examining our Prayers during 9/11

Many people prayed during the attack/tragedy of September 11th when the twin towers fell.  There was supplication and prayer requests made for firefighters and rescue workers.  Pray-ers asked for strength to be given to those on the ground for comfort to be given to those who had lost loved ones.  Pray-ers asked God for help.  They asked God to give unity and wisdom to leadership.  They asked for safety for those helping in the midst of the tragedy.  These are all necessary.  And they fall into the category of PRAYER.

Some people offered intercession.

The people who offered intercession were asking God to have mercy on us.  They knelt in their hearts before the mercy seat asking the Lord to have mercy on souls who were dying, and to have mercy on our nation.  They asked God to forgive any sins that might have led to this attack.  They stood in the gap for those who could not do it for themselves.  I suspect that many people came to the Lord because of the intercessors who cried out for mercy on their behalf.  Some intercessors had visions of specific people to pray for and God gave them His words to pray in that situation.

Intercession was a necessary ingredient to fulfill God’s purposes.

Still others battled the demonic forces that had been released against our nation in Spiritual Warfare.  Al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden released spirits of terrorism, murder, hatred and confusion upon our nation on 9/11.  As the warriors battled in the heavenlies, they prayed that those spirits would be bound up and loosed away from us.  These warriors had discernment to know what kind of spirits were being released and knew how to use their authority to keep the demons at bay.  They also used spiritual warfare over our leaders in order to keep their minds free from confusion and fear.  These kind of prayers were also necessary during this tragedy.

Practical Application

  1. What kind of Pray-er were you on 9/11?

Did you pray for the comfort of the people and the first responders on the ground?

Did you intercede for people who were dying and stand in the gap on behalf of those who needed God’s mercy?

Did you war in the heavenlies over demonic strongholds that were attacking our nation?

2. Have you grown in your prayer life since 9/11?

3. What is the desire that God has put into your heart about learning to pray?

4. What is the thing that you spend the most time praying about?

I ask the Lord to take each of us higher to learn how to pray effectively.  May the Lord equip His people to march together as ONE!  May each person reading this be stirred up to understand what God has commissioned them to do and may they ACT on His calling!

Church! We MUST Stay Awake!

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ.  Today I have one simple but loud message from the Lord for you!  The message is this:

We must stay awake and continue to fight the good fight in prayer!

We have won some fantastic battles recently.  We have seen the witchcraft, and manipulative spirit of Jezebel be defeated in our nation.  We are now dealing with a spirit of Leviathan – which is a “twister of truth” and "king of all who are proud." (Job 41)

We must continue to fight and persevere.  We can never go back to business as normal.  If we are going to bring reformation to our nation, we are going to have to continue persevering and fighting the powers and principalities that hold this nation captive.

We will never again be able to lay aside our armor and become timid in prayer.  We must fight for the people of this nation to be free from witchcraft, manipulation and a twisting of the truth.

I ask God to sound an alarm in each of your spirits.  I encourage you to keep yourself girded for war.  Take a Sabbath once a week, but otherwise, we need to pray each and every day for our nation, for our government, for the Church, and for the lost!

When you wake up in the morning and ask the Lord for an assignment to pray for.  Choose a specific time of day to be persistent in prayer.  Perhaps make it a point to pray on the way to and from work or school.  Another idea is to pray the each time you have to use the little boys or girls room.  If you exercise, pray in the spirit during your walk or run.

MAKE IT A POINT TO INTERCEDE EVERY DAY.  It will become a habit if you persevere!

Please join me today and renew your strength as we fight together to see God’s Kingdom come and His will be done.

Father God we praise Your Holy Name, and we come before You with Thanksgiving for all You are doing in our midst.  We pray that our hearts and minds would align with Yours.  We pray for peace mixed with a healthy fear of the Lord.  We ask You, Lord, to forgive us for the times when we have not been diligent in fighting for Your Kingdom.  Grant us the grace to stay up with You and Your angelic army.  We pray for wisdom and understanding to fight.  We pray for our fellow soldiers in the Army of Love – we ask You to awaken their spirits to the fight we are encountering.

We ask You to forgive us for the twisting of the Truth.  We ask You to forgive the Church for twisting the Truth of Your character.  We ask forgiveness for the spirit of pride in our hearts. We confess that we have been a proud Church. We have been unwilling to obey You because of our pride.  We humble ourselves before you and acknowledge that we are but dust in the wind and that Your Truth is the only safe place to dwell.  We seek deliverance from our pride and the twisting of the Truth in our minds.  We ask You to put a hook in the mouth of the spirit of Leviathan and pull it out of our spirits and our churches.

We then cry out for our nation and ask You O Lord to deliver us from the prideful and twisted spirit of Leviathan.

Teach us again Lord to love Your Truth and let it stand without repentance.

We pray for the Army of Love to be fully awake.  We pray for the lost, bring them home. We cry out to dry bones, come alive!  In the mighty name of the Lord of Hosts!  AMEN

Green Beans Aren’t in the Bible

I first published this article about a year ago.  I felt the Holy Spirit nudge me to publish it again because I have run into several people who are struggling to get free of the "circumcision" doctrine.

The divisive and paralyzing doctrine found in Galatians 2 and Titus 1 - is a doctrinal belief that our relationship with God should rest on the "law" of the Word instead of the freedom Holy Spirit.  If we are unbalanced and legalistic about the Word of God and give no room for the Holy Spirit - we have become part of the Circumcision group.

I hope these words help you to find Liberty through the Holy Spirit while remaining safely in the parameters of God's word.

I have a deep love for the Word of God.  It is a treasure to me and a symbol of safety.  I love when I can bring someone new understanding by using Scripture to unfold a revelation to them.  I also have come to love the Spirit of God.  Having the immediacy of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct me is a pearl to me and I will never let it go!  As Believers, we must learn to walk in the balance of the Word and the Spirit.

A few months ago, I had a friend ask about where our prayer about “breaking soul ties” is found in Scripture.

(click here for the Breaking Soul Ties tool)

We have had amazing testimonies about what can happen after using this tool.  Personally, I have been set free from some major strongholds by breaking soul ties.  The tool basically is a declaration that you are no longer in agreement with a person or group that you used to be in agreement with.

I decided it would be a good thing to go and find the scriptures for ALL of the tools we were using in our Victorious Prayer sessions.  As I sat down to pray for some scriptures, I had a vision of Jesus sitting in a vegetable garden in between the rows of green beans.  As I was praying about the vision, I asked the Lord why was He sitting in the green beans?

He spoke to my spirit and said,

“Green beans are not in the Bible.”

I said, “Yes, Lord I know.”  (I did a quick search on Biblegateway.com to make sure I knew what I was talking about.)  I didn’t find green beans, tomatoes, or cucumbers.

J

The Lord again spoke to my heart,

“You don’t have to prove that everything is in the Bible.  You simply have to NOT contradict the Bible.  Green beans are not in the Bible but they don’t contradict it.  The way you are doing deliverance ministry may not be specifically in the Bible – but it doesn’t contradict it.

You will put yourself in a “Bible prison” if you have to prove everything is in the Word.  I told you that you would do greater things that I did… therefore some of the things that you are going to do in your generation will not be in the Bible.  You just need to be careful to not contradict it.”

John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

This thought really set me free.  If we are going to do greater things than Jesus, then some of what He will lead us to do will not be found in Scripture.  However, we must be careful when we walk by the Spirit to not contradict what is already written.

The Word of God will keep us safe but it is not meant to put us in a prison.  This will keep us between the

ditches on the Path of Life (Click here

).  One ditch would be requiring everything we do in the name of the Lord to be found in the Word.  The other ditch is doing something in the name of the Lord that contradicts the Word.  I am grateful for the very safe boundary lines He gave us for us staying on the Path of Life.

It is my prayer that the Body of Christ would come to know the Word of God and the Spirit of God on an even deeper level than we already do.  This is where our safety lies.

Body of Christ – You Are Winning! Don't Stop Now! ADVANCE!

The Body of Christ has come together and we are marching against evil in our nation.  Our prayers have exposed manipulation, lies, and corruption that has permeated our government and the media.

We have set aside distractions, denominational differences, and our own pride to come together under the Lord's headship to see the Spirit of Jezebel defeated in our nation.

The spirit of Jehu has risen up.  The Eunuchs that have been controlled and manipulated by the spirit of Jezebel are tired of being used and they are throwing her down. (2 Kings 9)

The Church has been silenced by the Spirit of Jezebel in our nation.  We have lost our voice and have hidden in our caves afraid of this spirit.  (1 Kings 18)

This is no time to let down.  We must continue to pray that this spirit (not a person) will be trampled until there is nothing left but her hands and head.  (2 Kings 9:35)

Not one person can wholly take credit for what has happened here - it has taken all of us.  It has taken all of the giftings and every level of warfare to bring her down.  From the privates to the generals.  We've begun to understand what the end-time army and the end-time builders will look like.

The Kingdom of God is being revealed.  It will soon be time to transition into a new season of victory.  The Body of Christ has been used to losing battles but now we are going to have to learn to start winning!

No one should touch His glory.  No human should take credit.  But we can honor one another for the part that we have played in the victory.

Continue the intercessory advance against the witchcraft and manipulation spirit until it is trampled completely underfoot.

Everything will be revealed.  Only let us not stop pressing in until the Spirit tells us we are finished.

The Old Timers used to call this “Praying Through.”

We listen to the Spirit. Not to our flesh. Not to poll numbers. Not to media.  We pray until we hear our Commander say, “It’s finished!”

ADVANCE!

Prayer:

Father God we will no longer tolerate Jezebel.  Forgive us for letting it go on for so long. No matter what it costs us we will no longer stand for manipulation and corruption in Your church, in our communities, and in this nation.  We cry out for justice against every wicked deed done in darkness. Begin with Your church.  Cleanse us from those who claim that Your church belongs to them. Cleanse our government and media from a spirit of corruption and manipulation.  We pray for the eunuchs to step forward and expose the corruption.  We ask You to help us to pray through... until our assignment is completely finished!

In the mighty name of Jesus, AMEN

The Very Thin Line Between Discernment and Judgment

I had a wonderful, enlightening conversation with a friend recently that brought me great revelation about the difference between discernment and judgment.

We were speaking about a specific man and we were talking about discernment (truth or understanding) that God had given to each of us about this man.

She was quite irritated at this person, because his outward vibe is pride, arrogance and condescending grace.

She had drawn a wall between them and labeled him “prideful.”  As we processed her irritation with the Holy Spirit, He brought conviction to her that she had judged him.  The Holy Spirit said that He does not see people in black and white – He sees people in colors.

This man is guilty of walking in pride.  But there are giftings within him that are useful to the Body.  He is not out of the Lord’s reach.  He simply needs a recalibration of his place in the Lord.

When we have discernment about a person (i.e. they are in pride, or they are believing lies, or they are walking in disobedience) we are not to assume that this understanding about their current situation is a judgment about the rest of their life.  Nor should it make us feel as though we are better than them.

When God gives us the truth about where a person stands with Him – we are to see that person with the eyes of grace.  We are to use the discernment God gives us to pray for God’s resurrection power to come to them and set them free.

This is how the Lord saw Saul of Tarsus.  He saw Saul for what he really was:  Arrogant, religious and misguided.  But God saw all that Saul could be once the blinders were removed from his eyes.  After a good “humbling” from the Lord which included being thrown off of his horse, blinded for three days and rebuked publicly for actively working against Jesus - the scales fell from Saul’s eyes and he brought great revelation to the Body of Christ that has lasted for 2000 years because Saul became Paul and wrote more than half of the New Testament.  (Acts 9)

We are to believe the Lord for the wholeness of His people.  It is OK to hear the truth about a person from the Lord.  But it cannot come from your own mind or your own spirit… discernment about a person MUST come from the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes God will have you approach that person to speak truth and correction to them...but you cannot do it with His heart if you are only seeing in black and white.

God can even show you that a person is downright wicked.  This does not mean that you can judge them to hell.

Jonah spoke to Nineveh in black and white terms.  He had already judged them to hell.  But God saw Nineveh in colors, he cares about His creation.

God is patient and does not want anyone to perish.  (2 Peter 3:9)

I love this wisdom from Jennifer Eivaz about discernment:

When you discern by the Holy Spirit something negative about another, remember that God has just told you a secret.

Secrets remain in the secret place unless God gives you permission otherwise.

Remember that God loves that person even if they are demonized, struggling, or wicked.

There will be times you are called upon to deal with the situation more openly, but prayer is usually all that is required of you.

Have the fear of the Lord about the secrets that He tells you about other people.   When you are faithful with little secrets… You can be trusted with much.

What if the man that my friend saw as prideful earlier is actually called to be a huge blessing to God’s Kingdom?  By taking down her black and white judgment of him, my friend was able to bless this man and see that he had the potential for great value in the Body of Christ.

This is the thin line between discernment and judgment in the Kingdom…

When we know God’s truth about someone, does it make us pray and ask for God's mercy for them?

Or does it give us an air of superiority and makes us feel that we are better than them?

May God’s grace help His people to do better when it comes to discernment!

The Hardest and Most Rewarding Prayer You Will Ever Pray

“If My people, who are called by My name will humble themselves…”  2 Chronicles 7:14

Lord break me.

Break me of my pride.  Break me of my sin.

I no longer want “My Way.”  I want yours.

Your ways are higher than mine.  My ways lead to death.

Show me myself through Your eyes.  Show me the places in my heart that do not line up with yours.

Because I am made of flesh and bone, but You are the King of the Universe.

You are the foundation of all things… I am but dust.

Lord break me.

God smash every idol that sits on a throne in my heart.

And then smash the throne that it sits on.

Until I only want You.  Until I only want Your ways.

Create in me a clean heart O God.

Flood my soul with Your river and wash away anything that does not belong to you.

I invite you to ruin anything in my life that has not been built by Your hands.

I am sorry Lord for the years I have wasted building my kingdom on sand.

I know the storms are coming.

I know that I must bow low.

I know I must fall upon the Rock – or it will soon fall upon me.

I am not better than my brothers and sisters.

I was created by the same hand.

I am not their master… that title goes only to You.

I approach Your throne of grace with boldness and cry out for Your merciful hand… to cleanse away everything that’s hindering me from the fullness of relationship with You.

Lord break me…

…until I am yours. Completely. Fully.

…until I am ONE with You.

Using Effective Prayers Against the Church of Satan

A few months ago I had an encounter with a man that had once been saved but rebelled and began to attend The Church of Satan.  He had turned his life around and was now serving the Lord, but his stories about the discipleship that takes place in the Church of Satan were bone chilling.

He said they actually disciple people as missionaries to go out into the Christian Church to simply stir up trouble.  Gossip and slander were their tools.  Questioning the pastor.  Criticizing leadership.  These were what the “missionaries” were trained to do.

I had a dream the other night, and in it, I was taken captive by Anton LaVey, who was the founder of the Church of Satan.  He wrote the Satanic bible.  I only knew three things about Anton LaVey in the natural before I had this dream, I knew he was a leader in the Church of Satan, he wrote their Satanic bible, and I knew he had already died.

In the dream, I was in a group of about 12 people who were taken captive, and we were taken to a magic arts store that was also a laboratory for experiments.  I knew that if I looked Anton LaVey in the eyes he would see Christ in me and I would immediately be executed.

In the dream, they freely showed us their spells and their discoveries, because we were going to die anyway, and they weren’t risking anything by showing us.

I was shown a cookbook that had recipes for spells against people.  The one recipe I remembered being shown was a recipe to displace the people of God.  The spell would put them outside of the time and location of God’s will, therefore, they would miss certain opportunities.

I kept saying quietly to myself in the dream “His powers grow.  His powers grow.”  I heard another man who was a hostage with me say the exact same thing “His powers grow.”  So I knew even in the dream this was confirmation that The Church of Satan’s powers were growing.

The scene in the dream flipped, and suddenly I was in heaven.  I saw Anton LaVey in what I would describe as a prayer bungalow in heaven.  I instinctively knew that Anton LaVey had a “Darth Vader” conversion at the end of his life.  He had come to “the light” on his death bed.  The Lord said to me that he spends all of his time praying for those who have been deceived by his work on earth.

Jesus and I sat down at the table with Anton LaVey and began to pray with him.  As I prayed, my strategy for praying was to break the spells they were casting against the people of God.  This did have an effect, and their powers did grow weaker… but it was not the most effective prayer.

When I began to pray for the salvation of the members of the Church of Satan and the witches that were a part of it… I saw an entire satanic church transform into a Church of Christ.  It not only lost all of its power – it became a weapon for the Kingdom of God.

I believe the Lord wanted to show me through this dream that it is important to break off curses like the “displacement curse.”  But it is more important to pray for the salvation of the Church of Satan.

(When I woke up, I did some research on Anton LaVey, and I found some evidence that he indeed did have a vision while on his death bed and repented and called on the name of the Lord.  I was not aware of this before the dream.)

The day after the dream I found an article that 1000 witches used Facebook to come together and put a hex on the Stanford rapist.  I believe this was confirmation that the Lord was saying “His powers grow.”  The power of evil is growing within the Church of Satan and the strategy for God’s intercessors is to pray for their salvation.

(Read more about the Hexing of Brock Turner HERE)

Will you please join me in praying for them?

God, we pray that you would forgive the people who belong to the Church of Satan.

Father, we praise You for the salvation of those who have been blinded by the devil and have become part of the Church of Satan.  We bind the enemy from deceiving them any longer.  We pray that Your Spirit would pour down on them like rain and wash their eyes to see who You really are.  We pray that Your supernatural peace would draw them into relationship with You and that You would gloriously transform witches and warlocks and priests into servants of the Most High.  Would You break the veil off of their minds and send forth Your Word to set them free?  We pray that Your Word would not be stolen from them.  We ask for laborers to go into the harvest field among the deceived.  Grant them supernatural favor and wisdom.  God, we pray for those in darkness to come to the Light!  We pray that the Church of Satan would stop growing because so many of their members become enthralled with the person of Jesus Christ!

In the mighty name of Jesus!  AMEN

How to Pray a Hedge Around Your Home or Property

My husband and I pray for a hedge of protection around our home often. But once a year we take it a step further and prophetically walk the perimeter together and pray in agreement for the safety of our home and possessions.

I was inspired by a teaching by Jack Hayford years ago about the importance of being diligent about praying a hedge around your home.  He shared the story God used to teach him this important step in spiritual warfare.

He said that his washing machine started leaking water from the hose that went to the waterline.  He was perplexed about this because he had just put in the washing machine a year earlier.  It had come loose partly because of normal wear and tear and partly because of the earthquakes that California feels from time to time.  He had to be diligent about making sure the hose was connected so there wasn't a leak.  The Holy Spirit used this to teach Pastor Hayford that we must re-establish our boundaries around our home once in a while too.  He said this is how the enemy works.  He causes little earthquakes in our lives and uses the normal “wear and tear” of life to get a foothold onto our properties.  It is important that we are diligent to mark the territory that God has given us and keep it safe under His authority.

There is a wisdom in marking our territory and claiming God’s protection over it.  It is scriptural.  I have listed some of the scriptures below.  It is also a military or police procedure to establish a perimeter when securing an area.

We must have authority over the property by owning or renting it.  You can also have authority over property that you pay taxes on, such as roads and government buildings. But if you don’t own it or you don’t pay taxes on it – you have no authority to pray over it unless the owner of the property asks you to.

My husband and I formed our prayer strategy based on what Jack Hayford and his wife did for their home.  We’ve followed this procedure for at least 10 years now and I believe it works very well.  We’ve only had minor damage from storms and have never had a serious injury on our property.  Most importantly – we have a deep peaceful atmosphere that we come home to every day.

Here is what we do:

1. Mark out the territory.

We walk around the perimeter of our property praying the entire way.  We pray that where our feet walk that there would draw a blood line around our property. (If your property is larger – you could drive and pray the entire way.)  You can pray Psalm 91.  You can pray in the spirit. Or you can pray in English – however the Lord leads you.

2. Anoint the corners of the property.

We take vegetable/olive oil with us and we anoint the corners of our property by pouring out a tablespoon or so.  We then decree over each corner of our property and we give each corner a name.  We usually call one corner Love and one corner Peace.  The other two corners depend upon what the Holy Spirit leads us to decree.  It usually depends on what is going on in our lives at the time.  Perhaps we are in need of PROVISION or HEALING or BOLDNESS or WISDOM etc. We will name the other two corners according to what God leads.

Make sure to be diligent by walking completely around the property and complete the circle of prayer.  Then once you have completed the perimeter...

3. Cleanse the land.

Ask God to forgive every sin that happened on your property all the way back down to Creation.

4. Dedicate the land to God’s Kingdom.

Declare that your property belongs to the Lord.  Tell every evil and unclean spirit to get out of your property...  and never come back.

5. Seal up your prayers.

Then because you have done spiritual warfare you would need to pray the sealing up

A few testimonies:

One time we experienced a power surge and our microwave caught on fire.  We called the fire department and one of them pointed out a tree on our property that was full of bats.  He said he had never seen so many bats in one tree.  This was a red flag to my husband and we felt the Holy Spirit give us some discernment that we were under attack.  Bats are a sign of witchcraft in dream language.  So we spent some time in prayer and felt that the Lord say people had been praying against us and we needed to reinforce our borders through intercession and anointing our corners again.

Another time we helped a friend walk her property using Jack Hayford’s method and when we started there was no rain at all.  At the end of the first side it began to lightly rain.  The next side of the property it rained a little harder and the third side it started sleeting.  By the time we got to the fourth side it was hailing so hard we couldn’t hear each other pray.  After we finished it stopped hailing. We were completely soaked and we laughed so hard that the enemy would try to keep us from finishing the task of casting him out. Sometimes a sign that something works is when the devil works hard against you to keep it from happening!

Scriptures about prayers of protection:

All of Psalm 91

Exodus 12:13

NLT

But the blood on your doorposts will serve as a sign, marking the houses where you are staying. When I see the blood, I will pass over you. This plague of death will not touch you when I strike the land of Egypt.

Zechariah 2:5

NLT

Then I, myself, will be a protective wall of fire around Jerusalem, says the Lord. And I will be the glory inside the city!’”

Job 1:7-10

NLT

“Where have you come from?” the Lord asked Satan.   Satan answered the Lord, “I have been patrolling the earth, watching everything that’s going on.” Then the Lord asked Satan, “Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless—a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil.” Satan replied to the Lord, “Yes, but Job has good reason to fear God.  You have always put a wall of protection around him and his home and his property. You have made him prosper in everything he does. Look how rich he is!

How Christians Frequently Curse One Another

“Tisha will you pray for me?  I feel like people are praying against me.”

It was a request from a church leader I served with.  I knew what he was saying was true.  I knew there was a small group of people who really disliked the leader.  They thought they were better than this man and they thought of this leader as “evil.”

This man, of course, was not evil.  Some of the Pharisees in the church didn’t like that he wouldn’t conform to their preconceived ideas.  He also wasn’t perfect – but he did not deserve for people for people to actually pray against him.

Praying for this leader during this time was a real eye-opener to me about how Christians can pray wrong prayers for each other.  It caused a fear of the Lord to rise up in me as I prayed for others.  We must REALLY be careful about how we pray for others… especially the people we do not like.

Matthew 5:

43 “

You have heard that it was said

, ‘You shall love your neighbor, and

hate your enemy

.’ 44

But I tell you, love your enemies,

bless those who curse you

, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you

, 45

that you may be children of your Father

who is in heaven. For he makes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same? 47 If you only greet your friends, what more do you do than others? Don’t even the tax collectors do the same? 48

Therefore you shall

be perfect

, just as your Father in heaven is perfect

.

Romans 12:

14

Bless those who persecute you;

bless, and don’t curse

. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice. Weep with those who weep. 16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Don’t set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble.

Don’t be wise in your own conceits

. 17

Repay no one evil for evil

. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men. 18 If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men. 19

Don’t seek revenge yourselves

, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath

. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.” 21

Don’t be overcome by evil

, but overcome evil with good

.

I have personally felt the effects of people praying against me.  They don’t realize how praying outside of God’s will actually gives the devil a foothold to attack you.  Praying against someone is hatred.  Hate-filled words release spiritual death.

Here is what would happen to me – I would feel a heaviness and a depression that would come over me. I would sometimes be filled with doubt and be discouraged about my walk with Christ.  I would pray and ask the Lord, “Have I sinned to cause this darkness to envelop me?”  He would then show me that someone was praying against me.

To get free, I would forgive, command their words to be dead. Then ask God to bless them.  Within about 15 minutes my spiritual atmosphere would clear up and the sun was shining again on my heart.

Our words are powerful.  We CAN curse others or Jesus would not have told us not to.

The tongue has the power of life and death

, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

 Proverbs 18:21

On several occasions the Lord has directed me to pray for President Obama by removing the word curses that God’s own people have spoken over him.  What God’s people don’t understand is that they are the tool of the enemy by cursing our President.  If they truly understood God’s kingdom they would not be offended by President Obama and they would ask God to set him free from all of his wrong thinking.  Instead God’s people have hated our President, and released hate filled word curses over him.

We would be better off if people would bless President Obama and deal with the spiritual manipulation he is under.  We would be better off to pray a blessing over the President and his family.

1 Timothy 2:

1 I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4

who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.

Even Jesus asked the Father to forgive the people who nailed him to a cross.  Can we not forgive our President for his grievous acts against us?

I’vewritten about the “loophole” in the Bible in 1 John 5:16. (click here)

We CAN ask God to forgive the sins of others.

Be careful how you pray against people, especially people you do not agree with.  I suggest that after praying for your enemies adding this phrase - "yet not my will but Yours be done" - to the end of your prayers can be wise!

Our prayers for others should ALWAYS be redemptive.  Focus on praying against the evil that is affecting people – not against people themselves.

Bless and do not curse.

Steps to Wholeness:

If you are guilty of praying word curses against someone – repent and break them off.

“Lord forgive me for every word I have spoken against someone else.  I pray that my word curses would be dead and not live past this moment, in Jesus name!”

If you feel the effects of others praying against you or cursing you with their words – forgive them and break off their words.

I pray this prayer frequently – about every other day over myself.

“God I forgive every person who has spoken a word against me and I pray their words would be dead and not live past this moment, in Jesus name!”

Salvation for Loved Ones: Don't Lose Heart

My mother died when I was four.  I so look forward to being with her again.  I know that she had faith in Jesus and loved Him and served Him while she was on earth.  I’m happy that she is already enjoying her heavenly home and with every passing day I am taking another step closer to her.

Being with my mother is not the only reason I yearn for heaven…I yearn to be in the home that is being prepared for me.  I long to be with Jesus in His presence forever.

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.  Hebrews 13:14

To be with Jesus forever is our promised land.  Our mansion is being prepared.  He will wipe away every tear from our eyes and we will be together with the Lord.  We get a glimpse of God’s promise to us in Revelation 21:3-5

I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!"

Oh what a fabulous promise!  Eternally living with God in the midst of His glory and peace.  A new life with no more suffering and pain.  Oh what a Happy Day!

There are many of us who are crying out to the Lord for our loved ones to come to know Him personally. We want them to take the forgiveness of sins and free gift of salvation that Christ offered through His blood.  We are looking forward to the next life and desperately want our family and friends to join us there.

Sometimes we lose heart.  It feels like it is taking too long.  We let fear slip in and believe the lie that our loved ones will NEVER soften their hearts to the wooing of the Holy Spirit.  But please listen to my plea…

God works in mysterious ways.  He desires that your loved ones make it to heaven MORE than you!  They are His creation and His desire is to bring them home to heaven.  NEVER doubt that God has a greater desire than you do for the salvation of your loved ones.

He is patient.  He is kind.  It may seem like it is taking forever, but He is a master at extending an invitation for a closer relationship.

Believe God!  Remember to look at the BIG Picture!

I want to stir your faith to continue to pray for the salvation of your loved ones.  There is HOPE!  There is enough time!  No matter how far away they are right now from the Lord.

When the Lord spoke to Ezekiel about the dry bones in Ezekiel 37 He asked him… “Can these bones live?”

The answer is YES!  These bones CAN live!  The Lord can take the driest bones and take them step by step through restoration until those bones become a great army.

There may be family members or loved ones who are bitter and angry at the Lord – they are dry bones.  But nothing is impossible with God.

We simply need to not give up praying.  Because to God – our prayer is fuel for His works.  Our prayers enable Him to move mountains and to bring dry bones back to life.  He partners with humans to bring His kingdom to earth.

Pray, Prophesy

and walk in

Faith

for your loved ones.  There is nothing that would tick off the devil more than you being at perfect peace while you pray and believe for our Good Father to bring His will to pass.

Steps to Wholeness:

If you feel powerless and are struggling to believe God will save your loved ones walk through this tool:

Renounce the lie out loud:

I renounce the lie that my loved ones will never choose to serve the Lord.  Father God what is Your truth?  (Listen quietly for the Lord to speak His truth to you)

Declare out loud the

truth that the Holy Spirit gives you… then hold onto that truth in your heart!

Pray Ephesians 1:3-11 over your loved ones and insert their names.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed ______ in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose _________ in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined ___________ to be adopted as his son through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will-- 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. 7 In him _______________has redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. 9 And he made known to _______________ the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, 10 to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. 11 In him ______________ was also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,

Prophesy over your loved ones

that their dry bones WILL live and they will become and exceedingly great army!

You aren't powerless about your loved ones.  Pray and Believe!

A Church with Superpowers

by Tisha Sledd

My husband is a talented hobby artist.  He has had a comic strip idea in his head since high school and recently at age 40 has begun to make that comic strip a reality. (You can find his webcomic by clicking here.) It’s a funny comic strip about a super hero named Punchline.  Punchline has many super powers.  He has super strength. He can fly. He is bullet proof. He’s got laser eyes and has supersonic hearing. But Punchline never uses any of it except to meet his own needs.  Punchline has a talking pet bird named Enoch.  Enoch is always trying to give this self-centered hero wise advice but Punchline rarely listens.  My husband says
Punchline is a representation of today’s church.  We have so much power but we rarely use it except for our own needs.  We have direct access to wisdom but we seldom listen.  (James 1:5)

I recently asked the Lord how I could improve my relationship with Him.  He answered me with two words. Meditation and Application.  I needed to meditate on His word more and apply His word more.  As I have pursued these two things more diligently I have discovered something.  I have much more power in Christ than I am using.

He said in Luke 10:19 “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” That has a super power ring to it doesn’t it?  Meditate on this verse with me for a minute.  Christ has given us authority over ALL the power of the enemy.  The definition of authority is this: the right to control, command, or determine.  The definition of power is this: the ability to act.  So essentially we have been given the right to control our enemy’s ability to act.  WOW that’s a pretty great super power!

The trick of the enemy is to convince us that we do not have this power.  He keeps us self-centered and in chains to depression or victimhood.  Satan’s best trick is deception.  And he is VERY good at it.  I struggled many years under a cloud of heaviness and depression.  I didn’t know that I had a super power to overcome it. Gratefully, I now know exactly what to do when I feel that cloud coming for me.  I take authority in prayer over a spirit of heaviness and declare that it has no power over me. (Luke 10:19)  Then I put on the worship music and sing with all of my soul. (Isaiah 61:3)  I have not been in that pit of depression in a long time.  I have the right to control the enemy’s ability to act!

“The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.” —II Corinthians 10:4.

I want to invite you to shrug off deception and use the super powers that God has given us. Our superpowers include prayer, fasting, decreeing, binding, loosing, shining light in the darkness, worship, prophetic acts, dying to self (a form of martyrdom), endurance, perseverance, the sword of the Spirit (the WORD of God), patience, agreement of two or three, using the name of Jesus, the armor of God and so much more!

Believers, whatever is happening right now in our life, community or nation - we are not powerless! We have superpowers given to us by our King!

Ask the Holy Spirit which tool is the right one for your situation.  Do you need to speak to the mountain?  Do you need to fast?  Do you need to worship?  Don't just guess what superpower to use...ask God for the right one for the job.  Sometimes worship is needed - other times agreement in prayer is needed.

1. Recognize you are not powerless.
2. Ask the Holy Spirit what tool to use.
3. Activate your faith and BELIEVE that God is who He says He is.

Rise up Army of God and begin to mature in the use of your "Super Powers"!

Attention Intercessors: Are You Tired of Spiritual Backlash? Seal Up Your Prayers!!

I remember when I first began to do intercessory warfare.  I would rise up in my prayer time and use my sword to war against the enemy.  I would use the word of God.  I would declare and decree  I would tell the mountain to move!

And I would see answers to my prayers... but I would also feel BACKLASH.

I would feel a few days of spiritual warfare after a prayer session... I would maybe get into a fight with my husband.  Sometimes I would get really impatient. Other times I would get sick or depressed. There were times my electronic devices would stop working or I might have a fender bender.  Spiritual backlash would bring frustration to my life.  It would sometimes cause me to lose my peace of mind.  Or it would cost me financially.

The Holy Spirit was gracious to us and began to teach us about sealing up our prayers.  He made clear to us through a few dreams, sermons and "downloads" that it was OUR responsibility to seal it up and basically "lock the doors behind us" after we prayed.  It was not an automatic benefit after praying.  It HAD to be done by the intercessors.

EVERYTIME

we do Spiritual Warfare at Tisha Sledd Ministries we seal it up by praying this prayer.

We have found it to be invaluable in keeping us safe from the backlash that comes from messing with the devil and his kingdom.

When we pass it out to people at seminars we tell them it is a piece of spiritual gold.  We have paid a high price to understand this "sealing up" strategy.  Every time we were attacked after praying through spiritual warfare, we sought the Holy Spirit about how to protect ourselves from the backlash next time.  This is the list of what the Holy Spirit taught us to do.

Our recommendation is to pray ALL of it EVERY SINGLE TIME you do Spiritual Warfare - even if it is a little thing.  You will save yourself a lot of pain and spiritual attacks by praying this prayer. (We keep a copy on our phones so we have it with us at all times.)

We are happy to share our piece of gold with you.

  1. We establish everything we just prayed through by the blood of Jesus Christ. We seal it up like a Ziploc bag. Nothing can be taken from what we just did. Lord send your Angels to protect the land we just took from the enemy. (1 Peter 3:22)

  2. We pray that all demonic debris would be swept up to the feet of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 8:31 - if Jesus can tell them where to go so can we.)

  3. We pray that LIFE would inhabit every place that was just uprooted. (1 John 5:16, Matthew 15:13)

  4. We come against demonic rulers, authorities, powers, and evil spirits along with their along with all their works, roots, fruits, tentacles and links. (Eph 6:12)

  5. We pray for a hedge of protection by the blood of Jesus around every person involved in the warfare. We pray a hedge around our minds, homes, families, finances, possessions, health, jobs and ministries. (Job 1:10, Ps 91)

  6. We release warring angels to go out against the backlash. (2 Kings 6:16, Daniel 10:13)

  7. We pray for a spirit of judgment and fire to come against the ‘Devourer,’ the ‘Destroyer’ and ‘Famine’ in Jesus Name! (Is. 4:4)

  8. We declare that we are hidden in you and that our exploits will not be recorded in hell. (Psalm 143:9)

  9. We pray for prosperity and increase in every way over our lives. (3 John 1:2)

Equipping the Body: Prayer 101

Sometimes we miss small lessons along the path of discipleship.  I find that as I mentor people one of the lessons people sometimes miss is how to pray.  They have been told to pray but never TAUGHT to pray.

Jack Hayford says it best:  Prayer is essentially a partnership of the redeemed Child of God working hand and hand with God toward the realization of His redemptive purposes on earth.

There is power in prayer.  It moves the heart of God to act on our behalf.  It is a communication with our Heavenly Father, our Counselor and our Commanding Officer.  Through prayer we have whatever we need from God to accomplish His purposes in the earth.

The Most Basic Prayer

The Lord's prayer of course is an absolute must to understand, memorize and use - especially when we are with the congregation.  The Lord taught His disciples to pray using this prayer.  If  you do not have this memorized - this would be step number one  - learn the prayer Jesus taught His disciples.

Our Father who art in Heaven,  Hallowed be Thy name.  Thy Kingdom come.  Thy will be done.  On Earth as it is in Heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory forever AMEN!

When to Pray and How Often

I think the amount of time Jesus spent praying in proportion to ministering was probably about one to one.  Look at all of these verses:

...news about Him was spreading even farther, and large crowds were gathering to hear Him and to be healed of their sicknesses. But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.  Luke 5:16

Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed. Mark 1:35

One of those days Jesus went out to a mountainside to pray, and spent the night praying to God.  Luke 6:12
Jesus prayed OFTEN.  Jesus prayed at ALL TIMES of the day.

So concerning the questions of WHEN and HOW MUCH prayer -- it is pretty simple...  We should pray as much as we can at all times of the day.

Easy to Remember Acronym

An easy way to learn to pray is to use an acronym.  It will keep you on track and make sure you cover all of the basics.  As you get used to using it you'll be able to expand your method of prayer.

Praise - Repent - Ask - Yield

See easy to remember!

Begin with PRAISE.
Tell the Lord how good He is.  Tell Him how thankful you are for His goodness.  Declare His character according to Isaiah 9:6.  Pray Psalm 96 or Psalm 146.

Then REPENT.
Ask the Lord to reveal all of the things that you need to turn from.  Ask forgiveness for the things the Holy Spirit brings up in your spirit.  Then ask forgiveness on behalf of your brothers and sisters according to 1 John 5:16: If anyone sees his brother commit a sin that does not lead to death, he should pray and God will give him life.

Then ASK.
Ask the Lord for the things you are in need of.  Ask Him to bring His Kingdom to earth.  Ask Him for His protection.  Ask Him to keep evil from attacking you.  Assess what your needs are: Think about your life.  Think about your family.  Think about your community.  Think about your nation.  This is the time to ASK the Lord for the things you need. Think BIG!  Think BOLD!
Ephesians 6:18  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests.

Finally YIELD.
Ask the Lord to use you in whatever way He deems necessary.  Lay down whatever it is He is asking you to lay on the altar.  Be willing to carry your cross.  Yield yourself to the Lord and His Kingdom. Yield your time to Him by asking Him to speak to you and listen quietly...  Believe He WANTS to communicate.  Yield to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to speak directly to you!

TA DA!!
That's it -- it is that easy.  You can take the acronym P-R-A-Y with you wherever you go.  You can do it on the drive to work.  You can do it while you are waiting in the parking lot to pick up your kids.  You can do it around the dinner table with your family.  You can do it while you are in the shower.  Teach your kids.  Mentor others.  Prayer is going to be the most important tool we have in the coming days.

Let's GROW in the things of the Kingdom :)

Equipping the Body to Pray Against Terrorism

As an intercessor, I find it difficult to come up with words to pray against terrorism.  I know we can pray Psalm 91 and I know there is the blood of Jesus and I know how to pray a hedge... but further beyond that  - I am at a loss for prayers.

This makes me incredibly grateful that we are a Body of Christ and I can rely on other parts of the Body to equip me to pray better.  John Eckhardt has a book titled "Prayers that Rout Demons" (find it HERE).  I love the prayers that Mr. Eckhardt lists in his book.  They are powerful and effective!

He has these prayers grouped by subject so that for whatever need we might have - we can go directly to that chapter in his book and pray these specific prayers. I have used this book often and keep it with my Bible.

Here is a list of some of his chapters:
Prayers for Divine Safety and Protection
Prayers to Release the Arm of the Lord
Releasing the Power of the Blood
Speaking to Mountains
Prayers Over High Places
Prayers Against Idols
Destroying Evil Cauldrons
Prayers Against Jezebel
Prayers for Self-Deliverance
Deliverance and Renunciation of Sexual Sin
Prayers for Souls
Prayers for Your Nation

This list is less than half of what he covers in his book.  I highly recommend that you get yourself a copy of this book.  The work that Mr. Eckhardt has done to equip the Body of Christ is impressive and of the utmost importance at this time in history.

He has a chapter on Prayers Against Terrorism.  I am listing the prayers here.  Please agree with me in prayer over our nation against terrorism - then purchase Prayers that Rout Demons for yourself (click here).

Print out this list and pray it regularly.  Let us be equipped for every good work!

Prayers Against Terrorism

I bind and rebuke every red eagle of terror that would come against my nation in the name of Jesus (Jeremiah 49:22).
I will not be afraid of the terror by night (Psalm 91:5).
I bind and rebuke all terrorists that would plot against my nation in the name of Jesus.
I bind and rebuke all spirits of hatred and murder that would manifest through terrorism in the name of Jesus.
I bind and rebuke all religious terrorists in the name of Jesus.
I bind and rebuke all demons of jihad in the name of Jesus.
I bind and rebuke all spirits of antichrist and hatred of Christianity in the name of Jesus.
I bind all spirits of hatred of America in the name of Jesus.
I bind and rebuke the terrors of death in the name of Jesus (Psalm 55:4).
I bind all fear and panic that would come through terrorism in the name of Jesus.
Deliver me from violent and bloodthirsty men (Psalm 140:1).
I cut the acts of violence out of the hands of the wicked (Isaiah 59:6).
Let the assemblies of violent men be exposed and cut off (Psalm 86:14).
Let violence be no more in my borders (Isaiah 60:18).

Forming the Habit of Morning Manna

Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love,
for I have put my trust in you.
Show me the way I should go,
for to you I entrust my life.  – Psalm 143:8

In my previous article, we discussed Practicing the Presence of God.  Psalm 143:8 uncovers a detail about Practicing His Presence that is, in my opinion, a piece of gold from God’s word.

There is a place between asleep and awake where your mind and your flesh are not yet coinciding with your spirit.  It is the wonderful place that God drops His morning manna into us.

It is the living bread that comes down from heaven into our hearts as we awaken each morning.  It may be words that come to you from the Spirit of God. It may be a song from God.  Quite possibly it is a dream or a vision.  But this fresh word from heaven is our daily sustenance.

The Israelites experienced this in a physical sense in their 40 years in the wilderness.  God provided manna, a bread making ingredient, like dew on the ground for them to eat every morning.  They gathered what they needed for the day and it sustained them for 40 years.

In the same way, we eat the “bread” that comes from heaven by being in His Word or listening to the Holy Spirit.  The daily word, whether through the Bible or the Spirit brings us life.

Morning Manna is the word of God that comes from the Spirit of God. It is a revelation that comes directly to our hearts from the Lord each morning.

Some mornings I wake up with the most wonderful words from God.  Sometimes it is a worship song in my spirit.  Sometimes it is a piece of wisdom that I have been asking for.  There are times that Morning Manna saved me from making terrible mistakes.  And there are times that Morning Manna humbled me with its much needed rebuke.

During myDark Night of the Soul (click here) Morning Manna was literally the only thing that kept me going.  (Sometimes I would take naps in the middle of the day simply to have a mid-day manna. J)

The place between asleep and awake feels like only seconds but with God it is an eternity.  It is the place where God can bypass our mind and our flesh and speak to us spirit to spirit.

Morning Manna requires a little work on our part.  I had to begin to train my mind to turn to the Lord upon waking.  I would set my mind every night that when I woke up in the morning I would say, “Good Morning Lord!”  It was like I would pull back the curtain between earth and heaven and say Good Morning – and the Lord would ALWAYS answer back.

If you would like to form the wonderfully fruitful habit of Morning Manna, I suggest these things.
First of all:  Begin to pray Psalm 143:8 “Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.”
Secondly:  Set your mind to tell God “Good morning!”
Third:  Listen and expect.

A small word of warning: There have been seasons where the enemy has fought to keep God’s Morning Manna word from me.  The famine spirit is what happened to Daniel when he set his mind to get understanding from God in Daniel 10.  It took 21 days for the word to actually get to Daniel but because Daniel did not give up the word DID come.

If it does not come right away - persevere in the practice of Morning Manna!  Once you achieve the habit, you will NEVER let it go!

Maturing in Christ: How to Practice the Presence of God

I previously wrote about how to deepen our relationship with God by searching for our own meat (click here)..  I want to give you further tools for walking in maturity by giving you some keys to practicing the presence of God.

As we climb the mountain of maturity, we must feel more and more at home in the heavenly realm as we do the earthly realm.  We must acknowledge that to become like Christ we must not only spend time in His word, but we must spend time in His presence.  I have found that as I do both my spiritual muscles are balanced and climbing is easier.

The phrase “The Practice of the Presence of God” came from a book (click here) that was a compilation of writings by Brother Lawrence, a 17th century monk.  Brother Lawrence was a man who was dedicated to pursuing the presence of God each and every day in the midst of every task.

Brother Lawrence found great joy washing dishes in the presence of God.  He led a life of constant communion with God and found that no matter what he was doing He could possess the tranquility and presence of God whether he was at prayer or work.

When I first read this book it intrigued me.  It was a difficult book to read because of all of the 17th century words but I hope to bring them into the 21st century for you!

God is available through the power of the Holy Spirit.  God is available to ALL who wish to have Him – AND He is available in the quantity that each of us wish to have Him as well.

This is why practicing the presence of God is so important to maturing in the Kingdom.  We must open our eyes and understanding that He is with us 24/7/365. There is never a time that He is not accessible (except sometimes it FEELS like He's not accessible when facing spiritual warfare).

In a very basic form Practicing the Presence of God is using your child like faith to know that He is in the room with you at all times.  He is in the car with you.  He is in the shower with you.  He is in the kitchen with you.  He is at work or at school.  God is ALWAYS with us.

When we “practice” the presence of God – we are turning our mind toward the fact that He is with us.

Let us use cleaning or cooking in the kitchen as an example:  if God wants to have a relationship with you, He wants to be a part of your life.  So as you are in the kitchen, use your child-like faith to believe that He is in the kitchen with you.  Talk to Him like you would a friend.  Tell Him about your day.  Ask how His day is going.  Listen to see if He speaks to your spirit. Tell Him to get you an onion from the fridge ß This never works! Ha!  Just wanted to see if you were paying attention.  Tell Him your concerns.  Ask for His answers.  Treat Him as though He were a real person… because He is!

Do you understand what I mean?

Jesus is your friend.  He is near you because the Holy Spirit allows us access to Him.  You can access your relationship with Him by practicing.

When I first began practicing His presence it was in the car.  I would believe that He was sitting beside me in the car as I drove.  I would turn off the radio and talk to Him like I would any friend.  I began to love being in the vehicle by myself – because I wasn’t really by myself.

When I was young in the Lord, I struggled with the spirit of rejection because of childhood wounds, this frequently caused me to feel abandoned by friends or family (though it was a lie).  What I would do to combat the feeling of abandonment was practice the presence of God.  When I was hurt or lonely I would ask God to show me where He was in the room.  I would sometimes sense He was sitting in the chair next to me.  I would sometimes I would hear His voice in my spirit, “I am with you.”  Sometimes I would see myself as a little girl and crawl up into His lap to feel secure.  I would cry on His shoulder and He would just hold me.

The more you practice the presence of God the easier it becomes.  At first it was difficult but I kept practicing.  As I was researching for this blog I found this quote by Brother Lawrence and I thought it was fitting that he too found it difficult at first.

"That in order to form a habit of conversing with GOD continually, and referring all we do to Him; we must at first apply to Him with some diligence: but that after a little care we should find His love inwardly excite us to it without any difficulty."

What Brother Lawrence is saying here is the habit of continually conversing with God is a little difficult at first, but then once we find Him and how to commune with Him, His love draws us into His presence and it becomes easy.

I have found this to be quite true as well.  Just keep turning your mind toward Him throughout the day – it WILL become easier.

Lay aside the immaturity of seeking the hand of the Lord because you want something from Him.  Pursue the Lord by seeking His face and His presence because you want a relationship with Him.  You will be so glad you did.

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.  Jeremiah 29:13

Maturing in Christ: How to Start Finding Your Own Spiritual Meat

(I wrote a blog post about how Believers need to Shift from Milk to Meat Here is a follow post with how to start finding your own spiritual meat...)

When I was a Senior in High School, I had to traipse through my brother’s bedroom to get to my own bedroom.  (It was a small house with 7 people – so he had a bedroom in our music room/office.)  He is 17 months younger than me.

Every night when I would head to bed he was either reading his Bible or praying.  I would sometimes jump on him as I was walking through and he would say “Stop it!  I’m praying!”

We were a very competitive household…. (still are!)  The Holy Spirit used my spirit of competition to motivate me.  I kept thinking to myself, If Toby keeps reading and praying like this – he’s going to get ahead of me in my spiritual walk.  I had better pick up the pace.

So I began to pray and read the Bible every night as well.  (Sneaky Holy Spirit!)

But the truth is I hated reading.  The Bible was boring.  I didn’t understand it.  Even though I had been in church all of my life… I wanted someone else to chew it up for me and teach me the word.  I wanted other people to make it come alive to me like they did in Sunday School – or when the pastor preached.

It was not an easy transition.  I decided that I would not make myself take BIG bites of the word.  I would simply read one chapter every night and make it my goal to finish the New Testament.  I know you’ll laugh at this but I was a big non-conformist growing up and it made me sick to my stomach to read it from Matthew to Revelation.  So I read it backwards, from Revelation to the Gospels.  I know… I was a silly girl!

I really didn’t like praying either.  Again, it was boring and it was time consuming and seemed ritualistic.  But the Holy Spirit moved on my heart and I began to keep a prayer list every night to pray through.  I had a special note pad that was heart shaped that I kept my list on.  When the list was mostly answered I would write a new list.  I still have those lists somewhere in my attic!

For more than a year, I read one chapter a night.  Even if I didn’t understand it I just kept reading. I didn’t let hard passages trip me up.  My goal was not to completely understand.  My goal was to read through the New Testament.  I did not read on weekends or vacation and I’m sure I wasn’t perfect in reading absolutely EVERY night.  But I did it!

I can STILL remember reading the final chapter.  It was like I had reached the summit of an 18 month climb.  I thought back over everything I had read and was amazed how much I had learned about God...AND I DID IT ALL BY MYSELF!!  I trained myself to find spiritual meat!

By the end of my first time through, I was in love with the Word of God.  I was smitten with being in the word and how it changed me and became alive.  Did you know that?  The Word of God is alive and active.  The Lord can speak to you through it and give you the exact message you need for that day.

This truly was one of the most important journeys I ever took as a young Christian.  The trip to find my own meat.  It made me powerful.  It gave me strength.  It gave me knowledge and understanding.  It gave me a personal intimate relationship with Jesus that I didn’t know I was missing.

If you want to be closer to Christ, if you want to climb the mountain of maturity.  You must learn to find your own meat.

Here is what I suggest to those that I mentor:
1. Read the Word one chapter at a time.  If you don’t understand it, just go on to the next chapter the next night.  Don’t let a lack of understanding keep you from climbing.  The Holy Spirit will bring you understanding eventually.  Don’t expect to be eating steak the first time you find your own meat.  (Hamburger will do just fine! And it is easier to chew.)

2. Ask the Holy Spirit where to start. Don’t feel like you HAVE to start in Matthew – but if the Lord tells you to then trust He knows what He’s doing.

3. If you are not in the habit of praying, begin a prayer list to keep you accountable. Pray through it every night.  When a prayer is answered mark it off your list.  I suggest you keep your list, your faith will grow as you see God answer your prayers.

You will not regret taking this trip.  The mountain of maturity is worth the effort!

"It's not the lost who will decide the future of America, it's the saved!"

I heard a preacher say recently, “It is not the lost who will decide the future of America, it is the saved.”  That really resonated with my spirit.  Somehow, the Body of Christ in America has resigned itself to the fact that we can’t change the unrighteous course that our nation is on.  We are hurtling at light speed toward our own destruction because
of the sinfulness our culture has immersed itself in, and we feel helpless at the oncoming catastrophe.

But friends, we are not helpless.  In fact, the Body of Christ, has the power to apply the brakes.  Why is it that we have not yet done so?  Are we so deceived that we have forgotten that we can speak to the mountain?  Has the fear of being called “politically incorrect” so paralyzed us that we can no longer speak the truth of God in public?  Have we become so impotent that all it takes for us to back down is the thought of being called a ‘fool’ in public?  Do we fear the rejection of man that much?

You know, Noah was quite a fool.  For a hundred years while he was building an ark, he was the town ‘joke’.  And yet, in the end, those who laughed and slandered Noah perished.  Noah feared God more than he feared people.  God told him there was a coming catastrophe so he “did everything just as God commanded.” (Gen 6:22)

Friends, there is a storm coming.  In the same way that the flood was meant to cleanse the earth, God is about to send a ‘shaking’ to cleanse our nation.  Everything that is built on sand will be destroyed.  But everything that is built on the Rock will stand.  God has given us the tools to build an ark in Henry County.  We can apply the brakes to the coming catastrophe by following Noah’s example and do everything just as God commands.  We can build a stronghold right here in our county through which God can be a lighthouse to the rest of our nation.  But this requires that we become ‘fools’ for Him.

We must lovingly be salt and light without fearing rejection.  We must speak the truth in our churches, in our homes, in the public square and we must vote at the polls with God’s truth.  The future of our country is in our hands.

Will we do everything God has commanded?  Will you stand and contend for the next generation?  Many children today face a severe lack of absolutes.  Broken homes, absent parents, sexual confusion and ‘do what feels right’ culture surround today’s youth.  There is only one answer for this generation and it requires work on our part.  The Church MUST pray!  This is part of building an ark.  We must pray for our young people to come to salvation and for a revival of truth in our schools.

The Church MUST also add actions to their prayer.  We must stand for the truth.  We must represent Christ who is full of Grace AND Truth.  We must grow deeper, be strategic, speak with wisdom and tact.  We must become an Army with One General.  We must become fearless to obey God.

What is your part?  How are you building an ark?  First for your family, then for your community. Everyone has a part in the Army.  We are a Kingdom Army like the one during Nehemiah's time, an army who builds and fights.

I pray today that God will reveal to you how to do your part.  Let us pray AND act!

The LORD thunders at the head of his army; his forces are beyond number, and mighty is the army that obeys his command.  Joel 2:11
